Even though travelling by private, motorised vehicle is not the most ecological way to explore Kerala, it is, in many cases, the only realistic option. Many tourists will find the discomfort and timings of public transfort in Kerala difficult to accept. Therefore, we offer the option of hiring a car with a driver. Most of our drivers are based in the Periyar area which guarantees that rates are lower than car rental rates from the main cities. Further, we make sure that the drivers attached to Discover Periyar are highly experienced, have pleasant personalities, are English speakers, have a high degree of knowledge of Kerala, and that they keep their vehicles in exemplary condition.
Below you can see the most commonly available vehicles. Because taxi prices change frequently we have decided to not include them here. Please contact us for up-to-date prices. When booking a taxi for a tour, you will be paying a daily fee (e.g. Rs. 1500), a night fee for the driver (e.g. Rs. 150), and a fee per kilometre exceeding 80-150 kilometres per day on average (depending on vehicle).
