Border hiking
This is a conservation oriented hard trek arranged by the Forest Department. The route passes through the jungle and undulating terrains. Altitudes from 900 meters to 1300 meters will be covered and the trekkers can glimpse the lofty escarpments bordering the park, and the vast plains down below. Gaur, sloth bear, elephant etc. are often sighted along this route as well as birds and butterflies.
The programme starts at 8am and continues until 5pm. A maximum of 10 people can participate. The trekkers will go with four tribal guides and an armed forest guard. Vegetarian refreshments and water are served en route. In the rainy season leach socks are provided. Participants should wear long trousers and shoes or boots designed for walking.
