Discover Periar are five Malayalees with years of experience in tourism. One of our members has ten years of experience in different types of tourism promotion, three have worked for a reputable travel agency, and one is a specialist in programmes like mountaineering and trekking. We live in the Periyar area, but have, through our involvement in the tourism sector, developed a Kerala wide network of contacts with accommodations, drivers and guides.
Our focus when designing tourist programmes is ecologically sustainable tourism, i.e. the promotion of long-term sustainable use of ressources, caring for biological diversity, and preservation of important aspects of Kerala's cultural inheritance. Additionally, we ensure that income generated from tourism benefits local populations as much as possible.
